There are three versions of MVS
MVS is our original CTA trading system, which began trading in client accounts in May 2004. While based on the same principles as MVS, MVS Lite is a variation of the original program. In response to client requests, the Lite version was developed to have a lower margin to equity ratio and began trading in February 2006. MVS Flex uses the same principals of MVS to sell out of the money puts and calls, but instead of simply collecting premiums, long near the money options are purchased. This greatly changes the payout possibilities relative to standard MVS.
What is MVS?
MVS is a proprietary trading system based on extensive statistical analysis of market behavior. It is a non-directional system; that is, MVS does not predict which way the market will move, and does not need to in order to make money. It seeks to generate small but steady gains each month and, as you can see in the chart below, has been successful in doing exactly that. However, past results do not guarantee similar results in the future.
Because MVS utilizes futures options, tax treatment of gains is also favorable. Currently U.S. federal tax regulations classify all gains/losses on futures as 60% long term capital gains and 40% short term capital gains. State laws vary regarding capital gains taxes and all tax laws are subject to change, you should check with your tax professional to determine how this will affect you.
